When I was on my way back to the office after finishing lunch, my coworker stopped me to give way to our president. I slipped over a floor because I stopped suddenly and it was too wet because of rain. I almost tumbled down the floor in front of our president. He made me stand and asked me “ Are you alright?”. I said to him, ”I’m OK” Right after he passed by me, my coworkers laughed at me. “You made a slipping comedy in front of the president. Why didn’t you say hello to him?” I felt shameful and thought “Why did I have to give way to the president first” We have been taught to give way to high ranked persons not officially but unconsciously. Not at all. There was no one taught us to do that. It is just learned from everyday life. But it is huge heavy suppressing in our all societies. When I thought it, I felt a kind of humiliated. Am I sure that I have given way to even junior ranked persons also? Why did I make me smaller and lower in front of senior ranked persons? I would like to be humble not only in front of senior rank personas but also all people. Only after that, I can felt not humiliated.

Why didn’t you say hello to him?” It was a very humiliating situation!~ I  was ashamed and I asked myself  “Why did I have to give way to the president first?"  We were being taught to give way to high ranked persons not officially but unconsciously. Not at all. Nobody gave that order. It was just an ordinary custom to show respect to elders or important people. It was not practice in other countries. Whenever I think about it, I feel embarrass. Do I have to give way even to  junior ranked officers too? Why did I make myself smaller and lower in front of senior ranked personnels? I would like to be humble not only in front of senior rank officers but also to all kinds of people./I would like to humble myself not only to high-ranking officials but also to all sort of people. In this way, I will not be humiliated instead I'm going to be proud of myself.
