Yes completely. For example, in the case of selling a product, the image of the product affects customers' decisions. Let's say that there are two same items and each of them is involved in different brands. One of the items has a good reputation among the individual and the other is not. In this case, maybe the customers tend to buy the former products because of their good image. Also, there are many ways that the images affect people such as relationship or giving impression and so on. So for these reasons, I think images in are important factor to in affecting people's idea.
