What are the advantages of using public transport compared to driving? Do you think that governments should encourage public transportation more?

Compared to driving a car, using public transportations = transportation has several advantages. First is saving money. When I drive a car, I am supposed to pay for oil, car maintenance, insurance, and tax etc. Except for using a taxi, other public tansporatation = transportations is = are cheap.Second, we don't have to worry about parking  Especially = especially when we go to the = a crowded area, parking car is a burden. Third, we can spend the better = more time, we can do diverse = other things such as reading books or watching education =educational programs etc. The Government = government should encourage people to use public transportation. That is to reducing = reduce a pollution, and traffic jam = heavy traffic, etc.
