What factors are important to you when choosing a book to read ?

When I was young, Author is always my top priority to choose a book.
Every time the work of my favorite writer is released = published, I had to get it at once.
But, now I don't check author's name anymore.
Instead, I mainly buy a book which many critics recommended because my current interesting field = interest is economics or history.
