Maybe some people fell exiting=excited and interesting=interested when they see other people suffer from gossip.
There is a praise =phrase/line says 'other people's unfortunate is my fortunate.' This praise =phrase shows how people are enjoying making =seeing other people unhappy. Most people won't be happy to see others sad, but somebody will like it. That's why people like to say gossip about other people. The reason why people won't tell about them is they are worry that people might look at them as bad other people. So I think if people don't want to experience gossip, then they must try to stop making gossip about other people too.
