I had suffered from insomnia for about 9 years before I took advice from my mother. Now that I think of it, unconsciously II worried that If I had not slept well, I would be tired and ruin the next day. I studied hard for get high score for college entrance exam, rsity, getting good GPA when I was undergraduate student, and admission for medical school. For these reasons, I obsessed with my condition more than needed. I tried to overcome the insomnia by various methods. I didn't exercise or eat before sleep, used perfume for sleep, never took coffee after afternoon, drinking warm milk or hurb tea before sleep, put on socks for sleep, etc. However, it didnt helpful.
One day my mother came to my home and saw me tossing and turning in my bed but being failed to falling asleep. She said that the worst case is just that I would never sleep all night. I would be tired during the next day, of course, but what dose it matter? I realized that even the worst case is not the very worst case actually. And I came up with the article that Golden medalist for swimming of Beijing Olympic, Park, said he had never slept the night before, but won a gold. Swimming is a race against 0.01 second so physical condition is crucial, but studying is influenced by physical condition far less than swimming. After my attitude change, I got free from insomnia. |
