I kind of think that advertising have an influence on our standards for beauty.
There is a reason to support my opinion.We are always exposed to advertising from TV , Internet and so on.
When it comes to advertising, a person on the advertising is generally beautiful. That's why we are already adapted general beauty.
Also mostly, people near us or I already know are not beautiful and they want to approach to their beauty.
For this reason, plastic surgery industry is really developed in Korea.
