As you can see, the growth rate of India is quite higher than other countries.. In the result of these changes, the size of retail market of India is expected to grow to US$1.3trillion dollar and the market of India is expected to be the 3rd largest consumer market after usa and china in 2020.
And the growth of the middle class. The middle class of India is increasing on the strength of population growth and the rapidly growing economy. Even though the middle class is about 50 million in 2010 which accounts for 5% of total population, it is expected to reach about 500million in 2030 which is bigger than china's middle class population. Recently ,the size of it is approximately 135million households and this India's ever-growing middle class has money to spend, so that they accounts for 54% of total household consumption. |
