It seems clear that the figure of children’s books increased significantly during the given period. While the other two books had a fluctuation in their amount of profits.
Looking at the graph more closely, the amount of million dollars spent on children’s book was the highest except in the first year of the survey. It started at roughly 32 million dollars in 2002 and it sharply rose to roughly 42 million dollars in the next year. Then, it continued to increase before reaching a its peak of nearly 56 million dollars in 2006. In fact, the amount of million dollars in children’s the sales of books were almost twice as big as that of the other books.
As far as the other two books are concerned, the figure for adults’ fiction and educational books stood at approximately 45 million dollars and 25 million dollars respectively in 2002. To be specific, the profit of selling adults’ fiction experienced a dramatic drop in its figure of roughly 37 million dollars. Although, it inclined slightly to around 40 million dollars in 2004, it followed a downward trend until reaching to nearly 30 million dollars in 2006. Meanwhile, there was a general increase in educational book’s sales. From 2003 to 2005, it dropped gradually from roughly 32 million dollars to 25 million dollars. However, it bounced back to rise of roughly 33 million dollars in 2006.
