jayvee Hi everyone! My name is Jayvee. I’m from the Philippines and currently residing in Manila. I’m 31 years old, married and a mother to 2 adorable boys who happens to be twins. Yes they’re twins. I guess twinning runs in the family. Anyway, in my days off I usually stay home and spend some quality time with my boys. They love drawing, watching Disney films, eating pancakes and dancing. I try to be a hands-on mom as much as possible because kids these days grow up so quickly. For all we know, they’re grown ups already. I also enjoy traveling. It relaxes me and gives me comfort. I get to learn and experience different things; usually things that I haven’t thought of doing or trying. And I guess most Koreans can relate because you guys are well traveled. I’m also into cooking. I’m kind of adventurous when it comes to trying different cuisines. I can cook American, Japanese, Korean and Thai dishes. But my favorite is Italian food. My kids and I enjoy pasta, pizza and gelato. Regarding my experience in teaching ESL, I’ve been doing this for eight years already. At first, I thought I wouldn’t be that engaged to the job as much as I am now because my major was totally different. I studied Information Technology which was far from teaching English, especially to foreign students. But as they say, once you’re passionate about something, you will excel on it. And I believe passion is what made me last in this kind of work. Not only that, I get to have this sense of fulfillment whenever I see my students grow and learn through my teaching. Studying English shouldn’t scare non-English speakers because I tell you this is not scary at all. You just have to put your heart in it. Focus and have fun while studying English. You can still learn and enjoy at the same time without worrying about your knowledge. And that’s what I want to impart to my students. Learning is fun. That’s why it’s called, Happy English! ^^

I have been teaching English for almost 8 and half years for Korean students. My major is not a hindrance for me to pursue my dreams to teach English. I love teaching and English language as well. jhalyn Hi there! My name is Jhalyn. My friends usually call me Jha. I finished my course at Pangasinan State University with the degree of Bachelor of Arts in English. I have been teaching Korean students since 2011. My dream before was to become a call center agent but it had change by the time I graduated. My hobby of watching Korean dramas leads to this kind of profession; I’ve been a fan of K-pop since I was in high school. The first Korean drama that I got hooked most is “FULL HOUSE”. My favorite actress is Suzy Bae and my favorite actor is Lee Seung Gi. I love to learn Korean Language. I watch a lot of videos concerning on how to speak Korean. I try to imitate the way they speak. I can speak some simple Korean expressions. Because of my Korean students, I learned a lot of things about Korea. My understanding toward Korean culture has deepened. I want to visit Korea someday and see the beautiful places that my students described to me. I am jolly, positive, patient and cheerful. Teaching English to foreign students is also a part of my journey of becoming less shy. Seeing my students that improve make me feel very happy and I find it very rewarding. I have an experience in teaching primary students, middle school students, high school students, university students and even professionals who have different English levels. I also taught in an academy wherein I can have a class with my student personally. I always try to make my class lively and teach as easy way as possible in order for them to catch things clearly without getting bored and stressed in learning the language. Karen Hi there! This is teacher Karen. I am a graduate of Education course, Secondary Education to be specific major in Science. But don’t worry because here in Philippines we use English Language as a medium of instruction. I was once a classroom teacher and had taught different subjects. I became a Values, History, English and Science teacher of different grade levels. Teaching in a classroom environment is so stressful that’s why I quit and ended up teaching in a one-on-one typed. My experience in one on one teaching helped me introduced to different cultures of other people also, it developed my interpersonal skills. I am a licensed teacher for I passed LET (Licensure Examination for Teachers). My hobbies are reading books, listening to songs and playing 6-string guitar. I read both fiction and non fiction books. For fiction books, I read different genres but thrilling books is what I like the most. Examples of these are Dan Brown’s books such as ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ’The Lost Symbol’, ’Digital Fortress’ etc. For the non fiction books I like Science and History books. For the songs, I like acoustic more than anything because I like the sound of guitar that is also the reason why I got into playing a guitar. Lastly, I am a kind of person who is very much interested in a lot of things, I like to try things I haven’t tried yet because I want to discover myself more. Because I believe that all things can be learned we just have to go out of our box and face our fear. Actually I can’t write all the things about me, just ask me and I’ll tell you.
