Karen
Hi there! This is teacher Karen. I am a graduate of Education course, Secondary Education to be specific major in Science. But don’t worry because here in Philippines we use English Language as a medium of instruction. I was once a classroom teacher and had taught different subjects. I became a Values, History, English and Science teacher of different grade levels. Teaching in a classroom environment is so stressful that’s why I quit and ended up teaching in a one-on-one typed. My experience in one on one teaching helped me introduced to different cultures of other people also, it developed my interpersonal skills. I am a licensed teacher for I passed LET (Licensure Examination for Teachers).
My hobbies are reading books, listening to songs and playing 6-string guitar. I read both fiction and non fiction books. For fiction books, I read different genres but thrilling books is what I like the most. Examples of these are Dan Brown’s books such as ‘The Da Vinci Code’, ’The Lost Symbol’, ’Digital Fortress’ etc. For the non fiction books I like Science and History books. For the songs, I like acoustic more than anything because I like the sound of guitar that is also the reason why I got into playing a guitar. Lastly, I am a kind of person who is very much interested in a lot of things, I like to try things I haven’t tried yet because I want to discover myself more. Because I believe that all things can be learned we just have to go out of our box and face our fear. Actually I can’t write all the things about me, just ask me and I’ll tell you. Hope we get to know each other soon!

I have experience teaching students with different nationalities such as, Japanese, Turkish, Taiwanese, Vietnamese but I predominantly teach Korean. 10 years ago, I never imagined myself falling in love with teaching. But, I just found myself enjoying every minute of interacting with my students. I love the idea that I impart to their knowledge as well as to inspire them. It's always fulfilling to see my students developing their skills with my help. I believe that as an ESL teacher one of my responsibilities is to create a fun environment for my students specially for young learners. Moreover, encouraging and motivating them to take the challenge of learning a new language became a part of my obligation.
Learning a new language can be a struggle, but remember that it's just a tiny part of creating a better you in the future. Furthermore, when I am not Teacher Kai but just a simple individual, travelling with my friends is something that I enjoy. I feel free and contented listening to the waves when I visit some beaches and smelling the fresh air and watching the pool of clouds whenever I reach the peak of the mountain. I am also a music lover. Music helps me to feel less exhausted. There are still so many things that we can still talk about. I'm hoping to see you and be a part of your improvement.

Hi there everyone! This is teacher Jenny, one of the English teachers here in Happyenglish. So, let me tell you something about myself.
I finished a degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education major in English...that was in the month of April 2015. After graduating from the university, I decided to take the licensure exam for professional teachers and successfully passed it in December 2015. I started working as an English teacher at Happyenglish in November at the same year until I decided to shift work in June 2018... that was to practice my profession in a formal classroom setting. I also worked there as an English teacher for one academic year...and now, with the new teaching experiences I gained from that school, I'm back to working at Happyenglish. I'm really looking forward to learning more about Korean culture while teaching English at the same time.
